This piece was performed at BACKLIT gallery’s exhibition ‘YOUR CHANGES COULD NOT BE SAVED’ in March 2020, and was later documented at 4/4 gallery in September 2020.

The performance involves a live and physical relationship between the artist’s body and a sheet of 3 x 3m tarpaulin; a material associated with emergency climate situations. Conceived out of a interest in the way that we express anger and concern over environmental and political issues on social media, but often fail to act IRL as we are compelled to just keep scrolling. Feelings of frustration, powerlessness and guilt are investigated through a series of repetitive and protracted movements with the material.

This piece was supported by artist and dramaturge Emma Lewis-Jones.
